Joan Hanson



Joan has spent her career helping organizations build consumer driven strategies that drive value. Joan is a forward-looking thinker and keen observer who focuses on possibilities by using patterns and insight to develop thoughtful approaches to business problems. A quick learner who loves the challenge of studying new business categories, consumer segments and competitive sets, she is equally comfortable with data and analytics as she is with concepts and aesthetics. She has experience in a variety of categories including retail, consumer packaged goods and service industries. 


Joan has been consulting since 2009. She conducts research studies, analyzes and synthesizes consumer and competitor insights, facilitates strategy-setting sessions and develops marketing plans. She has also used her extensive experience in organizational structure and process design to help companies improve their organizational efficiency and clarify roles and her skill in managing large scale, cross functional projects to serve as a special project manager.


Joan has an MBA from the University of MN, Carlson School of Management and received a B.A from St. Olaf College. She also spent a year studying abroad at the University of Lancaster in Lancaster, England.
